Manta Queen 8 five days liveaboard

World-class liveaboard diving at the west coast of Thailand.

On this five days – five nights Similan Island liveaboard you make nineteen dives at Thailand’s most popular dive destination. You will dive at Koh Bon, Similan islands, Koh Tachai, Surin Islands, Bangsak wreck and last not least, the best dive site in Thailand: Richelieu Rock.

You are diving in small groups of a maximum of four divers with an experienced dive guide. Certification level and experience determine how the groups are put together.
On the first morning, you also will get an extended safety briefing, making sure everybody is familiar with the procedures and general safety rules.

Start with an early morning dive

Most of your diving on the Manta Queen eight liveaboard start early to avoid the masses on the dive sites. The days start with a wake-up call at six in the morning. Join a cup of coffee during the dive briefing at half-past six, and the first dive around seven. In the early morning, the fish life is lifely with a lot of feeding action going on.

Diving at the Similan islands

On the first two days of your Thailand liveaboard trip, you’ll dive all the best Similan Island dive sites. In total, eight dives.

On day three, you dive at Koh Bon and Koh Tachai. At each island you make two dives. The first two dives are Koh Bon Bon Pinnacle. After these dives the Manta Queen eight sails north to the island Koh Tachai. At the islands, you make two more dives at the beautiful reefs at Koh Tachai Pinnacle.

Richelieu Rock

On day four, the first dive of the day will be at the Surin islands. After this dive the liveaboard sails east to Richelieu rock. This dive site is considered as one of the best in the world and is frequently visited by whale sharks. At Richelieu Rock, you make a total of three dives.
After the dives the Manta Queen 8 sails direction Koh Tachai, where the liveaboard will anchor for the night. In the morning the liveaboard sails to Koh Bon for another two dives at this amazing dive site.

This dive site is well known as the cleaning station for manta rays. It’s not uncommon to see several manta rays cruising around at this dive site. After this dive the Manta Queen eight sails back to the mainland. Just before the coast lays the last dive site: Boonsung wreck. This wreck is an old tin miner which sunk in the eighties. This wreck on the flat sand bottom is a magnet for fishlife. In the cracks, you can see moray eels and small critters.

In between the dives you’ve plenty of time to chill out and enjoy the view. At the Similan islands, it’s possible to use the dingy to visit the white coral beaches. Or have a relaxing swim around the boat. On the boat, there is a shaded open dining area and a large sundeck.

About the Manta Queen eight

This liveaboard accommodates 24 guests in comfortable air-conditioned double bed cabins with own bathroom, twin bed cabins with own bathroom and, twin bed cabins.
The vessel is a 28 meters long and 7 meters wide with a wooden hull. It’s staffed by five dive multi-lingual dive staff and six boat crew members.

All meals are served buffet style and freshly cooked from the on board kitchen. Snacks and fruits are served in between dives.
